David J Siegel

Photographer

David J. Siegel is a photographer and film editor whose passion for taking pictures grew out of his love of music. The King Of Soul, James Brown, provided a feverish and dynamic subject, whom he began photographing at various clubs in and around New York City in the early 1980’s. These photographs caught the attention of the singer and his band, out of which grew a ritual of the two meeting regularly after his concerts – and a strong friendship that lasted over 25 years. “Every concert Mr. Brown and the band performed was unique, which inspired me to document as many of them as possible – and capture the incredible energy and soul of the Hardest Working Man in Show Business” David has also photographed other artists including Merle Haggard,Bobby Womack, The Red Hot Chile Peppers, and Tito Puente. Hiswork can be seen in front of and behind the camera on the # 1 TNT Drama Rizzoli & Isles, where his photography has been used as part of a standing set. David is also an editor on the series. More of his editing work can be seen on Mad Men, Chicago Med, Marvel’s Agent Carter, Rome, Law and Order, Godzilla, Washington Square, and numerous other Feature Films and Television Shows.
